Yoga Beyond Poses: Movement and Sound Healing for Mind-Body Wellness

This yoga-based wellness workshop is non-competitive and provides a welcoming and non-competitive space by eliminating mirrors in the space, having small group sizes, and all bodies are welcome!

Movements and Healing Sounds: This is more than your typical yoga class. You will connect with your body and mind by going beyond asanas (poses).

You will practice breathing techniques that utilize sounds in between and during gentle movements, listen to sound-healing music and non-lyrical calming music during your movement practice, and will be able to reward yourself with a live, short sound bath at the end of your practice.

Mental-Health Informed: This workshop will be led by Ciera Shimkus, is a mental health therapist (LCPC, R-EAT) and also a yoga teacher (RYT-200).

In this workshop, you will be encouraged to notice your mindset and be attuned to your wellness while engaging in movements and sounds.

Through gentle movements and deep breathing exercises, you’ll learn to release tension, improve flexibility, and find inner balance.

This event is for:

  • Those who already engage in yoga-based movements or other body practices, people who want to learn more about meditative or spiritual practices.
  • All demographics (except those who are pregnant for this round)
  • 18+

Come as you are, wearing comfortable clothing, and bring an open mind and a willingness to explore the depths of your being.

Note: This event is a wellness workshop and not a therapy service. While the workshop may be provided by a licensed or license-eligible professional counselor, board-certified/registered creative arts therapist, or counseling intern, your attendance/participation does not establish a client-therapist relationship, and is NOT in any way a continuation or extension of your therapy. None of the legal HIPAA requirements, nor the expectation of privacy to which you are entitled in therapy are required or offered in this workshop. However, therapy support is available and you are encouraged to reach out to Adrien or should you desire to explore individual or group therapy options.
