Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy is a multimodal/intermodal approach that combines visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing and other creative processes to encourage personal growth and communal connection. Through attunement and rapport, your therapist will select appropriate modalities that fit your unique needs, strengths, and goals.
It is natural to flow from one form of expression to another, and your therapist will embrace this in your sessions. By combining the arts processes and flow, you will gain access to your inner resources for healing, clarity, and creativity. For example, if you are working on positive thinking, you may create visual positive statement cards and act them out, verbalize them aloud, or embody them in a way that is most meaningful to you. Engaging in multiple expressive arts modalities allows the mind-body connection to work together, creating an integrative process and experience.
We understand that people process things differently, and we work with all ages individually or in groups!
