Kate Ziebart
(she/her)
Counseling and Art Therapy Intern
Hello and welcome!
No matter what you’re working through I am here to meet you exactly where you are and support you through it. Sometimes what is most needed is space and time – two things that can feel in short supply in our busy world. I’d love to carve out that space for you to feel connected to yourself. I am passionate about creating a grounded environment for you to build skills for internal resilience and self-regulation. Strengthening your ability to manage feelings of anxiety, stress, and emotional-overwhelm. Big decisions can be overwhelming, shame-based thinking can leave us feeling stuck and insecure, together we can turn down the fear and turn up the self-confidence.
My name is Kate and I am an interdisciplinary artist, movement improviser, and social-emotional educator. I enjoy working with skills like attunement, resourcing, and problem-solving in order to empower the intuitive self. By approaching therapy through a lens of curiosity and compassion, we will explore ways in which certain behaviors protect, express a desire or need, or call us to ask, “Does something need to change?” There is always a way to look at something a little differently, to approach a problem with creativity, and to understand the what and the why with kindness and humor.
We will use art making as a way to release restrictions in the mind and body, opening up space to witness what is calling for our attention. Depending on your needs and interests we can use art therapy as a processing tool, as a way to reveal the unconscious, or as a way to drop into a meaningful and rewarding conversation. I view art therapy as somatic in that it allows us to connect the mind with the body and bring deeper awareness to ourselves.
My hope is that a session with me will feel like a big deep breath. Together we can discover something deep within you while alleviating feelings of isolation in your search for clarity.
